Purpose:

Developed in secret by the United States military in conjunction with the United Kingdom and Japan, the DSSX-90 "Desert Eagle" bipedal tank destroyer was designed as a highly mobile alternative to tanks. It can also function as part of a mobile defense array, namely one to defend laser carrying anti-missile vehicles. Also, it is extremely adept at replacing tanks in urban environments.

Mass (empty): 67.5 tons
Mass (full):76.4 tons
Maximum Speed (on flat terrain): 62kph

Weapons:

The humongous bipedal vehicles primary armament consists of dual, rapid loading 50 millimeter cannons, with an effective range of just over a kilometer. Despite the state-of-the-art gyroscopic machinery, the weapons are only capable of engaging targets at close to medium range when the vehicle is in movement. Atop each cannon housing rests an ammunition locker containing 2000 armor piercing, high explosive depleted urnaium rounds. 2000 shells is enough for each cannon to exhaust in under 30 seconds of fire, but a four to five shot burst is enough to disable most hardened targets. Spent shell casings can be ejected out the side or fed back into the ammunition containers. A gyroscope in each arm, in conjunction with the movement and targeting computer, keep the arms as level as possible during bumpy bipedal movement.

For engaging light vehicles and unarmored targets, a 20 millimeter belt fed gun can be affixed below the chin mounted sensory array. Due to ammunition linkage and targeting problems, the weapon is cumbersome and nearly useless when in the vehicle is in movement, and thusly the weapon is removed on most operating models. The weapon can fed by a 1500 round magazine located below the cockpit protrusion.

Backing up the cannons, on either side of the cockpit are self propelled warhead launchers, each capable of firing up to 8 guided warheads. The specific munitions can be interchanged, and may vary greatly to conform with mission specifics. Commonly carried are LAW (light Antitank weapon) multiple launch systems. More powerful anti-tank warheads, or ground to air missiles are also carried. The nose mounted sensory array and central radar can be outfitted to fit any type of missiles’ guidance requirements.

Power & Management:

The vehicle is powered by a bank of high density hydrogen fuel cells. The legs and arms are manipulated by powerful electro-active polymers. Smaller moving parts are powered by hydraulic and electrical actuators.

Internal heat from the upper body as well as exhaust from the missile launchers are piped out through large vents on machines back. Excess heat from the generators and upper body movement is cooled by cryogenic fluids, or dissipated along conductive surfaces lining the rear torso. Heat generated by the continuous, strenuous movement of the les is channeled out through vents and conductive surfaces along the central and lower legs.

Armor:

The armor consists of a depleted uranium coat surrounding a titanium shell, and coated in steel. Thick plates of steel surround the bank of fuel cells to protect the pilot and surrounding units if the cells should be damaged to the point of a catastrophic combustion. Internal ammunition linkages are sheathed in Kevlar impregnated nylon to contain internal ammunition detonations.

Movement and balance is maintained by a series of internal gyroscopes, short range, high resolution radar scanners and a powerful movement computer. The radar scans the terrain surrounding the vehicle and feeds the data back to the movement computer. The computer, reading information from the gyroscopes, adjust the limbs and stride to conform with the terrain and remain stable while sustaining even high speed movement.

Wow, you really put a lot of scientific-hullubaloo into it!
